Parkinson revealed that the Gambia international will have to undergo surgery after suffering a hamstring injury during the 2-1 victory over Colchester United. Speaking to the media, the Wrexham boss said [via The Leader]: "Jacob is going to have an operation. If there is a positive to having an injury like that is the fact that we have already got promotion. He can have his rehab now through the summer and hopefully come back strong.

"Obviously, no-one likes being injured but Kevin Mulholland and his team are working hard to resolve that problem."

The Wrexham boss also revealed that James Jones will miss the next clash against Crewe Alexandra. However, the key players being out injured will not be an issue for the Red Dragons with the club having already secured automatic qualification to League One next season as they continue their dream journey under the ownership of Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

WHAT NEXT FOR WREXHAM?

With Stockport County having won the League Two title, the last two games for Wrexham against Crewe Alexandra and the newly-crowned champions will not have anything on the line and could just be a run of celebration for them.
