City confirmed their squad for the Club World Cup on Wednesday and Grealish has been left out. The England international hit back at fan criticism recently after reports first circulated that he would miss the tournament, as he continues to be linked with a City exit amid interest from Everton and Newcastle in the Premier League, and Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga.

Grealish has slipped down the pecking order under Guardiola this season and was limited to just seven starts in the top flight. He managed to contribute three goals and five assists despite his lack of involvement but his days at the Etihad appear numbered.

City are taking four summer signings with them to the Club World Cup, where Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki, Marcus Bettinelli, and Rayan Ait-Nouri could all make their debuts. City have also included Rodri in their squad as the Ballon d'Or winner bids to continue his comeback from an ACL injury.
