Diego Simeone has not been a big fan of Felix since his move to Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2019 from Benfica. After over three seasons of underperforming for the Rojiblancos, the Portuguese forward was sent out on loan to Chelsea in January 2023 before moving to Barcelona on another loan for 2023-24. While Barcelona had reportedly been interested in signing Felix, they have since abandoned the plan and Atletico are now looking to other options to get rid of Felix.

Atletico Madrid are looking to sign Manchester City's Alvarez this summer and as per the Daily Mail, the Rojiblancos are offering Felix on loan to Pep Guardiola's side in addition to an amount of cash as they look to sign the Argentine striker. As per reports, Alvarez is indeed looking to leave the eight-time Premier League champions and the Cityzens value the 24-year-old at £75 million ($95.6m) plus a further £10 million ($12.7m) in performance-based bonuses.

Alvarez has said that he hopes to play a bigger role for City in "important matches". When asked about the Argentine's future at the Etihad Stadium, Guardiola addressed bluntly that his future depended on himself. Following Guardiola's comments, Alvarez then said that he is happy at the club despite his comments and said: "I heard what Guardiola said. I don't have much to say about it. I never said anything bad. I just said that I was going to think about it like I do every season to make an analysis of what happened last season, a projection of what may come. I always say that I am comfortable and happy at City, which is a great club. So I didn't say anything bad."

WHAT NEXT FOR FELIX AND ALVAREZ?

With both players reportedly unhappy at their respective clubs, the swap deal would be the best thing for them. However, it remains to be seen if Manchester City are just as happy to bring Felix and his reported attitude issues on board.
