Fans of the award-winning Apple TV show dared to “believe” once more when it was reported that options had been taken up on three leading characters – those played by Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein and Jeremy Swift.

As the rumour mill was set in motion, other cast members have been quick to air their excitement at potentially stepping back into the shoes of their popular on-screen characters. There has, however, been no official word on when Ted Lasso could return.

There have been admissions of no script being in place, with writer and title character star Jason Sudeikis needing to be fully on board, but reports have suggested that the ball could be set in motion early in 2025 – with there more tales from the world of AFC Richmond to be told.

Warner Bros chief Channing Dungey told when asked about the mounting speculation, with another hint offered towards a show that appeared to have reached a natural conclusion in May 2023 being brought back: “We are just in early production conversations, but it’s exciting.”
